Training Log, May 9 - May 15
Monday
I was really in the zone and before I knew it I had run a mile past my half way point. So instead of doing 5 miles I did 7. It shows you that sometimes things come easy.
Tuesday:
Morning run was HARD today!! I keep looking at every mile marker after the half way point, I kept saying, "slow down but DON'T STOP". I make it.
Evening: 5 Rounds of Thai Pad work and 6 rounds of sparring
Wednesday
Monthly work shop with Ajarn Nelson
He really wanted to help Noah, Jai and me get ready for our fight on June 11th. So we worked on a lot of defense! We really worked footwork footwork and more footwork. We then worked on improving our teeps (push kicks) and we learned 3 types of Teep Ka, which are teeps where the toes are turned either outward or inward to kick the thigh or side of the ribs. We learned so much information especially with combining the footwork with gliding blocks and scooping blocks.
Thursday Noah Jai and I did 3 rounds of heavy bag work and 6 rounds of sparring.
Saturday Day off
Sunday:
I was all ready and geared up for a group run in Manhattan Beach. I am glad that Jai showed up; otherwise it would have been just me. We ran for 45 minute then headed back to the dojo and did 5 rounds of heavy bag work alternating between the boxing bag and the Thai bag. We then worked on our defense drills for 3 rounds. We finished with 5 rounds of sparring. The only problem is that near the end of round 4 I caught a knee to the side of me leg, the part the shinguards don’t cover. I hope I can run tomorrow…
Sparring Notes. I notices that every time I came in for hands only comb like jab-cross-hook-cross I would stop straight in front of her and she would nail me with a right round kick to the gut. Much fix that.
